Nissan Teana Review

Nissan Teana is an epitome of luxury. This awe-inspiring sedan gives an amazing look even from a distance. Nissan has presented this new sedan which has defined luxury in its own parameters. The ultra-premium sedan boasts of its superiorly sculpted exteriors, comfy interiors and minor detailing done on the car. Teana, which falls in the D segment cars, sheds confidence as it moves. It transcends all barriers of sophistication and is buttery smooth from all angles. One can fall in love with this beauty just in a glance.  

Nissan Teana, the mid-sized luxury sedan car is produced in Japan and is brought in India as a completely built unit. Since, Indian government charges high rate of tax on CBU cars, price tag on Teana turns out to be very hefty. Moreover, Nissan rolls out Teana sedan in a petrol engine only. Since diesel cars have an upper hand with customers in India, the demand for Teana is meager in the country and therefore Nissan India cannot think of assembling the car at its Indian plant. The lush sedan was launched in 2003 in Japanese markets first. Teana is also sold under the badge of Nissan Maxima and Nissan Altima in other countries. The first generation Teana was retailed in the name of Nissan Cefiro.

Along with Teana, Nissan also brings X-Trail SUV and Nissan 370Z as CBUs. However, Nissan produces hatchback Micra and entry level sedan-Nissan Sunny in India itself. It works in collaboration with Renault and has its plant in Oragadam near Chennai. Although price factor deters its sales, Nissan Teana is a superb car in its own world.

It looks more of a chauffeur-driven car and presents a harmonious driving experience. Right from the subtle lines that flows across the body of Teana to the top-notch appointments that adorn the interior; this sedan has been designed to embrace luxury. A sweeping arch that runs along the bodyline of Nissan Teana reflects its elegant, unmatchable image. Inside the car a spark of extravagance is evoked by the soft rich padding and woodgrain trim of the instrument panel, steering wheel and other fine appointments. The chrome-ringed triple is highly visible behind the steering. Not just that, an integrated display shows drive computer functions. A unified design makes the seats and armrests look and feel like a high-grade sofa. Positive impressions are left just at a glance.

As far as exteriors are concerned, one can fall in love with Teana. If we go into details, the sparkling door mirror turn signal lamps not just enhance beauty but improve visibility for other drivers and pedestrians. The contours of mirror reduce with noise. A very sharp character line runs from fender headlamps and climbs the fender. The headlamps are adorned with blue inner lenses that generate a cool-toned, high-tech ambience. Dynamic and elegant 9 spoke alloy wheels are engraved with an expressive undulating line. The geometric 3-dimensional look of the LED rear combination tail lamps offers an impressive view.

The engine is complements the overall aura of Teana very well. The V6 petrol engine that goes into the bonnet of Teana is complemented with an advanced X-tronic CVT that provides exceptionally buttery acceleration. Nissan Teanais developed on the Nissan’s D platform with multi-link rear suspension. So, one cannot even think of noise, bumps or vibrations even in the wildest of his dreams, when in Teana.  

Nissan has taken utmost care when designed Teana and thus a host of safety features can be found on the sedan. As part of its Safety Shield concept, Nissan provides various measures to help the driver and passengers to avoid dangers in ways that are optimized for a wide range of circumstances. Even when risk does not seem to have appeared, Nissan technologies make it easier for the driver to maintain safe driving conditions. Features like Xenon/Halogen headlamps, Fog lamps, LED rear combination lamps, etc provide passive safety while features like EBD, Vehicle Dynamic Control (VDC), Active head restraints, dual front, side and curtain SRS airbags with pretensioners etc. provide active safety.
