Mitsubishi recently re-launched its Mitsubishi Outlander in India. In place of 5-seater variant, a 7-seater variant is now also available for those who are professional by the week and off roaders on the weekends. The theme of the new avatar is more aggressive styling and luxury. The major part of the alteration comes at front side. The Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV) has borrowed many features from the Outlander GT Prototype. In fact, one would not notice any alteration at the rear side.
Mitsubishi Outlander is loaded with a 2.4-litre engine which would deliver 170-Ps power and 226-Nm torque at 4100rpm. It has 16 Valve MPI MIVEC (Mitsubishi Innovative Valve-Timing Electronic Control System) with the displacement of 2360cc. The vehicle incorporates INVECS-III CVT (Continuously Variable Transmission) type transmission with 6 speed manual and 6 speed paddle shift. The steering wheel of the Mitsubishi Outlander is Hydraulic Variable power assisted. With the help of the innovative engine technology, the SUV can touch a top speed of 190 km/h and the minimum turning radius is 5.3 meters. Mitsubishi Outlander is provided with front McPherson coil springs with stabilizer bar and rear Multi-link coil springs with Stabilizer Bar that ensure smooth riding.
The front face of Mitsubishi Outlander is totally changed by the company and it is made to look very sporty. The front face now is sleeker but aggressive. The front grille comes in jet fighter style and has been taken from Lancer Evo. Apart from that the front bumper, roofrails and hood are modified completely. The upgraded headlamp cluster is more stylish than before and is integrated with turn indicators. The outside rear view mirrors are also fitted with integrated turn indicators. According to the company officials, the new Mitsubishi Outlander is available in seven colour option.
